TMC is offering options in Extended Living to patients and their families. The trends for long term care are to eliminate the clinical environment and provide a more homey setting. Sometimes this includes staying home with a little help to support you or your family. Home Care and Adult Day Care are services provided here at TMC that will help make it possible for you or your loved one, to stay at home for as long as possible. TMC Home Helpers “Bridge the Gap” by providing assistance with in home nursing services, helping with routine bathing, dressing and personal care, and some necessary services on a fee for service basis. TMC Adult Day Care will provide supervision and care “one day at a time”. This offers a safe, secure environment giving the caregiver occasional free time, help while working, transportation and support. TMC Extended Living has made changes to rooms and offers more privacy to the residents. Private rooms, suites, private bathrooms, bringing favorite furnishings to decorate your room, phones can be transferred from your previous residence if desired and meals can be in your room or in the dining room the decision is made by you. Menu items are selected personally by the resident from our Choice Menu, dietary will accommodate special dietary requirements if needed. The TMC staff provides our residents with respect and dignity while providing the quality care they deserve. Our private pay residents are now charged rates on an Individual Index system based on the amount of care and their needs level. This change has been implemented July 1, 2007, and is worth the inquiry to the Chief Nursing Officer. Learn how this can save on Extended Living costs for a private pay resident. The services provided are the same for all Extended Living residents. The privacy we all desire is honored by staff. The staffing of the Extended Living is the same as our hospital area. TMC has an RN supervising the campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With the on campus services of the hospital and adjacent provider clinic, all residents have immediate access to professional services. Education is essential to providing the quality care to all residents and patients. TMC takes every opportunity to provide additional training to our nursing staff. Recent education has been provided on emergency trauma and pediatric trauma training to all registered nurses employed. Teton Medical Center is expanding training to include the National Incident Management System which prepares us for a crisis. An up to date Emergency Plan is in place and coordinated with all Teton County emergency services.
